Krishna Nair is a passionate Quality Improvement Lead, clinician, and digital health strategist, with a strong background in senior management, healthcare innovation, and system transformation. His expertise spans Mental Health, Clinical Safety, and Digital Health Transformation. As an NMC-accredited HEI Lecturer and certified facilitator, Krishna is deeply committed to patient safety, clinical effectiveness, and risk assessment, serving in the NHS accredited role of Clinical Safety Officer (CSO) as well as Chief Clinical Information Officer (CCIO) for Innovate Health Consulting Ltd. His leadership has been instrumental in embedding digital transformation, AI-driven healthcare solutions, and clinical governance frameworks across NHS services. Krishna is also a professional member of BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT, underscoring his dedication to advancing digital health, data-driven care models, and AI in clinical practice.
With a career spanning over three decades, Krishna has successfully led large-scale Quality Improvement and Digital Transformation programmes that have reshaped service delivery, patient care, and healthcare system efficiencies. Between 2009 and 2013, he directed multiple high-impact Safer Care initiatives, including the 15 Steps Quality Challenge and Dignity and Respect in Care projects across the North of England. His work delivered Quality, Innovation, Productivity, and Prevention projects, significantly improving patient outcomes, service efficiencies, and workforce engagement. His contributions to Lean Healthcare earned him the 'Lean Champion of the Year' award at the Lean Healthcare Academy Awards in 2013. From 2013 to 2016, Krishna worked as a Quality Improvement expert in NHS Commissioning, advising Yorkshire and Humber Commissioning Support and Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs) on Lean transformation, health technologies, and service optimisation. His pioneering role in developing a data-driven tool for General Practitioners and NHS Commissioners—designed to identify and improve or decommission services that do not add value to patients—was recognised with the 'Medipex NHS Innovation Award' in 2015.
Krishna holds a PhD in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and Pain Management, along with an MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice, an MSc in Psychology, and Postgraduate Diplomas in Management and Teaching. He is a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt and MSP Practitioner, with extensive experience in AI applications in healthcare, digital innovation, and clinical safety assurance for digital health technologies. His work continues to drive quality improvement, patient-centred digital transformation, and AI-driven healthcare strategies, ensuring that technology enhances—not replaces—compassionate and equitable patient care.
